The Postman Review
My hopes were high for The Postman. Perhaps it was another Waterworld, I thought, something the critics attacked but I enjoyed. This time, however, the critics were correct. Spanning approximately 205 minutes, The Postman was about 200 minutes too long. The scripting, story, and action were all poorly done. The Postman attempted to put some humor in the movie that didn't really fit with the grim setting. There wasn't any feeling of time passing, but it did. Approaching the final hour, however, The Postman started to improve itself, providing some action and greater plot, but by that time, eyes are already drifting. The ending was little to be desired for and the denouement was utterly stupid. If you want to see a grim futuristic movie, watch Waterworld.
